Meet our Doctors

Meet the experienced and friendly doctors who make Fremont Optometric Group a proud provider of vision care products and services in Fremont.

Dr. Brian Gin

Dr. Brian Gin grew up in Fremont, California and graduated from Mission San Jose High School in 1998.  He completed his bachelor’s degree in Animal Physiology and Neuroscience at the University of California, San Diego in 2002.  In 2006, he received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

Brian is the son of retired senior partner, Dr. Victor Gin, and has been practicing with Fremont Optometric Group since he graduated.  Dr. Gin enjoys educating patients about myopia control options including CRT lenses, multifocal daily soft lenses, and low-dose atropine therapy.  He has also devised a tier-based dry eye protocol to address the growing dry eye issues we face in this digital age.  This includes home-based and in-office-based treatment options that Dr. Gin will be happy to share to help alleviate your dry eyes.

He currently lives in Fremont and is married to his optometry classmate, Dr. Sara Chiu.  They have a labradoodle, Arlo, and two boys.  He enjoys snowboarding, pickleball, indoor climbing, and PC gaming.

Dr. Clifford Leong

Dr. Clifford Leong, a native of the San Francisco Peninsula, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego, and a Doctorate of Optometry from the State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City.

After completing his optometry education, Dr. Leong pursued a post-graduate research fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the State University of New York College of Optometry.  During this time, he published a paper on orthokeratology, instructed contact lens labs for optometry students, and delivered lectures on specialty contact lenses.  He further honed his expertise by working with a distinguished eye surgeon in New York, providing pre and post-operative care for refractive surgery patients and fitting specialized contact lenses for challenging cases.

Dr. Leong balances his professional commitments with family life, enjoying weekends with his wife, two sons, and dog.  In his leisure time, he indulges in cooking, traveling, playing basketball, snowboarding, and passionately supporting the Giants, 49ers, and Warriors.
