Commitment to Technology at Fremont Optometric Group
Fremont Optometric Group is committed to ensuring we invest in technology to empower us to diagnose and treat conditions.
Octopus 900 Visual Field
- Threshold visual field automated perimeter
- More accurate and reliable visual field testing than screening visual fields
- Computer analysis of visual fields gives our doctors more information to track progression of field loss
Corneal Topographer
- High resolution corneal topography
- Gives our doctors a map of your cornea to better fit GP and CRT lenses
- Allows for more accurate tracking of corneal disease (ie. Keratoconus)
Maestro OCT

- Captures high-resolution, cross-section scans of the retina, optic nerve, and macula.
- Essential for detecting and tracking minute changes associated with glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
- This powerful technology includes an integrated fundus camera to provide a comprehensive, wide-field view of the back of your eye.
Optomap Retinal Imaging
- Allows us to see an unprecedented 200 degrees of your retina.
- No dilation necessary for most patients (we can skip the drops!).
- Allows us to check for things like glaucoma, macular degeneration, high blood pressure, and retinal holes/tears.
Digital Phoropter
- Allows the doctor to conduct your sight test faster and more accurately than manual systems.
- Enables quick, precise comparisons between your current vision and potential new prescription.
- Integrates seamlessly with other digital equipment for an efficient and modern examination experience.
VR Visual Field
- Provides a comfortable and immersive virtual reality experience for testing peripheral vision.
- Eliminates the need for a large, imposing testing device, reducing patient anxiety.
- Offers accurate, clinically-validated results essential for tracking conditions like glaucoma and neurological changes.
iCare Tonometer
- We no longer use the non-contact tonometer (NCT) “puff” test!
- Provides a quick, gentle, and highly accurate measurement of your intraocular pressure (IOP).
- Essential for glaucoma screening, this test uses a tiny, feather-light probe for maximum comfort.
Optical Biometer
- Used for all patients aged 6-18 to accurately measure the axial length of the eye.
- Provides our doctors with an objective and precise way to track the progression of myopia (nearsightedness).
- Standard patients are tracked yearly, while patients in our enhanced myopia management program are tracked 2-4 times/year for optimal care.
