COVID-19 Policy/Procedures Updates, 9/29/21

We’re happy that community vaccination numbers are increasing and California’s COVID cases appear to be decreasing despite the rise of the delta variant. We’re still not out of this pandemic, but wanted to share our updated protocols.

  1. Masks continue to be mandatory for everyone regardless of vaccination status while inside our suite. All of our staff are vaccinated, but will continue to wear masks for both patient and staff safety.
  2. Medical history and insurance verification forms are still sent out digitally via email or text after booking an exam. Please fill them out at least a day before your exam on your computer or mobile device to help efficiency and decrease your time in the office.
  3. We no longer use curbside check in so go ahead and check in for your appointment by simply walking in.
  4. Patients are allowed to pull frames off the board, but we ask all frames that are touched to be placed in a tray so we can clean them with our UV sanitizer before placing them back on the board.
  5. There is a limit of 1 patient in the exam room at any given time in order to reduce the exposure risk to you and our staff. Exceptions can be made for those under 10, those that need an interpreter or those who are otherwise handicapped.
  6. We have resumed contact lens fitting and trainings. We know wearing glasses with masks leads to fogging and contacts might be a good option for you! We also have a great anti-fog spray that can be applied to your glasses so be sure to ask when you come!
